Looking for a quiet, stress-free spot for your 2026 fall family portraits? If you need updated family memories or gorgeous photos for your holiday cards, this hidden gem in Lenoir City is your sign to book!
Conveniently located right off the bridge over Tellico Lake—just a few minutes from Farragut and a quick drive from Loudon and Maryville—this private lakeside spot has fast become one of my absolute favorite locations for fall family sessions.
Why This Lakeside Spot is Perfect for Families of any anges
As a Knoxville-area family photographer, I always look for locations that combine gorgeous light with total convenience for parents.
Zero Long Hikes: The wispy tall grasses, wildflowers, and lake shoreline are located right off the parking area. No lugging diaper bags or carrying tired toddlers down long trails!
Plenty of Room to Safely Explore: Little ones have space to move, play, and stretch their legs without crowded park distractions. Even on peak autumn weekends, this spot remains quiet and peaceful.
Unbeatable Golden Hour Light: We started this session 45 minutes before sunset, capturing the warm golden light reflecting off Tellico Lake.
Fall Wardrobe Inspiration: Warm Tones & Textured Layers
Outfits play a huge role in how elevated and cohesive your final images look. For this session, Mom nailed the color palette and textures:
Start with One Pattern: Mom selected her toddler’s patterned outfit first.
Pull Complementary Colors & Textures: She found a warm, textured outfit that pulled tones directly from the toddler’s pattern.
Keep Dad’s Look Simple: Dad wore clean, classic wardrobe staples he already owned that fit right into the color scheme—no oversized logos or busy patterns.
Boots & Layers for Cold Weather: Matching cowboy and cowgirl boots add the perfect autumn touch! For chilly fall evenings, I always recommend cozy long sleeves or textured layers. Staying warm keeps skin tones looking natural in-camera (preventing that chilly purple tint) and makes the session fun and comfortable for everyone.
Embracing Natural Interactions & Real Smiles
When I give prompts during a shoot, I never expect toddlers to follow directions perfectly—and that is where the magic happens! My approach is to let parents roll with the moment: cuddle in close, laugh together, and enjoy your family.
During this session, we captured sweet, candid moments of play. But when I asked their little boy to look at the camera and smile, he promptly refused, looked down, and completely ignored me!
Instead of forcing it, I had Mom and Dad sit together on the grass and just play with him. A moment later, feeling left out of the cuddle, he walked right over, snuggled up against Mom, and flashed the sweetest, completely unprompted smile right at my lens.
Leaving room for natural interaction always yields the most genuine, heirloom-quality portraits.
Artwork Built for Your Home
When I photograph your family, I’m not just creating images for social media or phone screensavers. I’m designing art intended for your walls.
Choosing beautiful, quiet locations and shooting during optimal golden hour light ensures your final gallery brings warmth, life, and beauty to your home’s walls for years to come.
