Recently, I had the honor of photographing a beautiful Catholic baptism at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in Farragut, Tennessee. As a Knoxville family photographer, being invited back to document important milestones for past clients is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.

This baptism took place on a rainy day, and the church interior featured warm lighting conditions that required professional camera equipment, lighting knowledge, and careful editing. St. John Neumann Catholic Church is one of the most beautiful locations for baptism photography in the Knoxville area. The church offers a traditional Catholic setting while providing beautiful spaces both inside and outside for family portraits.
The ceremony included the traditional Catholic baptism rites, family prayer, and baptismal font blessing. Afterward, we were able to take advantage of the church grounds for portraits.
One of my favorite things about St. John Neumann is the variety of portrait locations surrounding the church. No matter the time of day, there are beautiful architectural features and outdoor areas that work perfectly for family photographs.
The church is also conveniently located in Farragut, making it easy for out-of-town guests to attend. Families often continue the celebration with lunch or dinner nearby in Turkey Creek, which offers plenty of options for gathering after the ceremony.
Favorite Moments form this Farragut Baptism
This baptism was especially memorable because family members traveled from across the country to be there. Seeing so many loved ones come together to support this little girl's faith journey was incredibly special.
For nearly a week leading up to the ceremony, East Tennessee experienced off-and-on rain showers. Just before portrait time, the skies cleared, giving us the opportunity to create beautiful outdoor family photographs in front of the church.
The baby was happy, curious, and full of personality throughout the entire service. She spent much of the ceremony looking around at everyone who had gathered to celebrate her, giving me countless opportunities to capture genuine smiles and sweet expressions.
Moments like these are exactly why I love baptism photography. They preserve not only the ceremony itself but also the joy, love, and support surrounding a child on such an important day.
